Presented by Jim Kouzes
Turbulent. Disruptive. Chaotic. Unexpected. Unpredictable. Changing. These words have come to define what normal means these days. They also define the circumstances that demand leadership. Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, the bestselling authors of The Leadership Challenge, in over three decades of research have asked thousands of individuals to describe their personal-best leadership experiences, and across the board people say their moments of greatest personal and professional achievement arise out of the most difficult periods in their lives. Challenge is the crucible for greatness. In this interactive and engaging presentation, Jim will reveal what his and Barry’s research tell us about how everyone—whether in a formal leadership role or in “taking the lead” as an individual contributor—can strengthen resilience and fully engage people during uncertainty disruption, transition, recover, new beginnings, and other significant challenges.
1 –Describe six strategies for turning adversity into opportunity and strengthening resilience during uncertain times.
2 – Articulate one practical action they can take to apply the six strategies to their professional or personal challenges.
3 – Discuss evidence that these six strategies increase workplace engagement.
